IKEA Recipes
IKEA Recipes is a senior design concept utilizing the resurgence of home cooking as people seek healthier, culturally-rooted meals. Because meal-kits are unsustianable (costly, doesn't teach valuable skills), IKEA Recipes aims to be affordable as well as educational.
IKEA already has an iconic element that can be further expanded: food. Operating in dozens of countries, IKEA adapts its menu to reflect local cultures, offering regionally rooted dishes. These recipes enhance and integrate seamlessly with IKEA’s shopping experience.
Cycle of Loyalty
Customers can purchase individual “booklets,” each featuring a curated selection of IKEA recipes from a specific culture. The booklets highlight ingredients that can be directly ordered through IKEA’s website at a discounted price when scanned from the recipe card. The back of each card includes step-by-step instructions illustrated in IKEA’s signature minimalistic style.
Customers purchase the booklets, scan the QR codes, and order ingredients through the IKEA app. The result is satisfying meals and happy customers, creating a cycle that fosters strong brand loyalty.
